Survival Pants….We Will See…

I ordered a pair of Bear Grylls Craghopper survival pants about a month ago, and have put them to the test. I have to say, I really like the looks of these pants, and wearing them, I just get the urge to go run and jump around and do Bearsy things.  These pants are very comfortable and the stretch panels are awesome, however, there are some downsides to these pants. First, these are survival pants, yet if you get anything too hot around them, they melt. If you are around say, a campfire, embers that pop will melt right through them. The other issue I have is the quality of craftsmanship. These things feel like the cheapest pair of pants ever. The pockets feel like they could tear if you put anything remotely sharp in there (keys), and the hip zipper pocket’s zipper broke the first time I used it.

Bottom line

If you want a pair of comfortable, light-weight pants, or even just want to be like Bear….get these. If you want a pair of long-lasting “survival” pants….look elsewhere.

By the way, I guess they are closing out the line, because they have most of the line on sale for 50-70% off.

Kydex Holsters & Sheaths

One of my projects I have been working on is making kydex gun holsters and sheaths. Check out the link. If you have pocket lint and want a holster for it, we can make it.

The above image is of a left handed IWB holster for a XD(m). We have several options for attaching to your belt.

Promag Archangel 10/22 stock

I just picked up one of these at cheaper than dirt the other day and installed it on my 10/22 in about 20 minutes. I had none of the issues that people spoke of in their reviews. I then went out to the range and sighted in my red dot scope. So far, I have had no complaints other than a little play in the adjustable stock portion, but that’s not that big of an issue. It seems to be made of good quality, heavy plastic, and is very rigid. I will try to get some pics and video up the next time I go to the range.

Ruger 10/22

I just traded my father for a Ruger 10/22…the most well known 22 rifle ever! I am really excited about getting this thing to the range and plinking with it. I am also looking at the different stock options, so if you have some nice mods made to yours, please, let me see…either by email or comments on this post.

I am going camping tomorrow and I will try to be knocking out some videos while im out there. If I can, I will try to get some of this.

The Survival Handbook

I got this book at a local book store the other day, and I must say, I really like it. The info in this book is tried and true. The illustrations in this book are great and make it very easy to understand the skills or techniques demonstrated. There is a great variety of topics from choosing the proper gear, to survival/self reliance skills for all the different climates.

Here is a link to it on Amazon

Mora Knife With Sheath Mods

I am sure that most of you already know about Mora Swedish Knives. This is the same knife that Cody Lundin carries. They are a good quality knife…cheap. These are 2 of mine and the sheath mods i have made to them. These are the simplest form of mods and only include some gaffers tape and electrical tape, a safety pin taped to the backside, and a paracord neck strap. I am considering adding a striker to one of them as well.

Feel free to post pics of your mods..I would love to see them.

These can be found on the web for around $10-11 us.
