Finally, Some Relief!

The weather here in Texas is finally starting to cool off, and I couldn’t be happier! With the change in temp, I will hopefully be able to get more dirt time in…meaning more regular posting and videos.

If you have something in particular you would like to see a video about, just let me know via comment or email.

Survival Pants….We Will See…

I ordered a pair of Bear Grylls Craghopper survival pants about a month ago, and have put them to the test. I have to say, I really like the looks of these pants, and wearing them, I just get the urge to go run and jump around and do Bearsy things.  These pants are very comfortable and the stretch panels are awesome, however, there are some downsides to these pants. First, these are survival pants, yet if you get anything too hot around them, they melt. If you are around say, a campfire, embers that pop will melt right through them. The other issue I have is the quality of craftsmanship. These things feel like the cheapest pair of pants ever. The pockets feel like they could tear if you put anything remotely sharp in there (keys), and the hip zipper pocket’s zipper broke the first time I used it.

Bottom line

If you want a pair of comfortable, light-weight pants, or even just want to be like Bear….get these. If you want a pair of long-lasting “survival” pants….look elsewhere.

By the way, I guess they are closing out the line, because they have most of the line on sale for 50-70% off.

“Times are a changin’”

I just wanted to let you know that December we will be open for business! This is the perfect time to come spend some time in the outdoors…no bugs…no snakes…it feels good to be by the fire….not like in the summer.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a few things for the next few months. I will be hosting a few evening courses, I will try to get the dates posted soon.
